Tauriel: sewing the corset part I

Nachdem nun das Muster auf der Front fertig ist, kannst los gehen mit dem zusammennähen des Korsetts :)

Here I'm making the substruction of my corset, what lise beneath the leather.....
All those ribbons that you can see in the lighter brown, are the tunnels for the boning (which comes later). On the second picture you can see the flexible bonings which I sewed directly to the curved seams (over the breast and the side)

Hier sieht man den Unterbau fürs Korsett, der liegt dann unter der Lederschickt...
All die hellbrauenen Bänder werden später mit Stäbchen gefüllt. Auf dem zweiten Bild habe ich die flexieblen Stäbchen, auf die gerundeten Nähte über Brust und an den Seiten, aufgenäht.

And here is my beautiful, soft leather (the real color is somewhat darker)
It's a lot softer than the one I used for the front piece.

Und das ist mein wunderschönes, weiches Leder (die Farbe ist in echt etwas dunkler)
Dieses ist viel weicher als jenes für das Vorderteil mit dem Muster drauf.

For the cutting I taped the pattern onto the leather. You can't use pins, they would leave wholes, if they would even go through ;)

Fürs Zuschneiden habe ich das Muster aufs Leder geklebt mit Klebstreiben. Man kann dafür keine Stecknadeln verwenden, diese würden Löcher hinterlassen, wenn sie denn überhaupt durchgehen ;)

Here you can see how soft the leather is, I can pin it together and yes for this you can use pins because you will sew exectly where the pins are now ;)

Hier sieht man wie weich das Leder ist. I kann es sogar mit Stecknadeln zusammenstecken. Und ja hier ist es kein Problem Nadeln zu verwenden, da man ja nacher eh genau an der Stelle näht ;)

Tauriel corset front design part 2

I did it :D The front design is finished. And here's how it got onto the leather....

Geschafft :D Die Verzierung auf dem Korsett ist fertig. Und hier seht ihr wie sie aufs Leder gekommen ist...

First I copied the design onto a foil. As I didn't have one that was big enough I parted it in 3 parts.

Zuerst habe ich das Muster auf eine Folie kopiert. Da ich keine hatte die gross genug war, habe ich 3 Teile gemacht.






Then I taped the foil to the leater and transfered the design onto it by pushing quite hard with my pen.
That was quite the worst part of the whole process, well that and the next step...

Dann habe ich die Folie auf das Leder geklebt und druch starkes Drück mit Kugelschreiber darauf übertragen. Das war der mühsamste Teil, naja das und der nächste Schritt...

As my leather wasn't ideal for this kind of things, you could almost not see the lines on it, so I had to copie only smal portions and then had to trace the almost invisible lines with my pen. Well I have to find a better way to do this next time...
If someone hase better idea, please let me know, I would be very greatful!

Da mein Leder nicht sonderlich geeignet ist für solche Sachen, konnte man die durchgedrückten Linien fast nicht sehen. Also konnte ich jeweils nur kleine Abschnitte übertragen und musste dann die fast unsichtbaren Linien nachziehen. Ich muss unbedingt eine bessere Methode finden für nächstes mal...
Wenn jemand eine bessere Variante kennt, bitte mitteilen, da wär ich sehr froh!

And this is my final result. Although it doesn't really looks like the original, I like it very much and think it looks awesome. 
Let me tell you guys, this burning pen is such a cool tool, I'm a huge fan of it now and am looking forward to using it again :D

Das ist mein Resultat. Obwohls nicht gleich aussieht beim im Original, bin ich sehr zufrieden damit und finde es sieht super aus.
Und ich sage euch, dieser Brennpeter ist der Hammer! Ich bin richtig fan davon und freu mich schon auf den nächsten Einsatz :D








Now it's time to put the corset together. I alway feel very excited when it comes to putting things togehter and seeing the final result ;) So stay tuned, next update follows this Friday.....

Finally I'm done with my front design. As there arn't any pictures where you can see the design very clear, I mady my own iterpretation ;)

Endlich bin ich fertig geworden mit Muster fürs Korsett. Da es nicht wirklich Bilder gibt in denen man das Muster klar erkennt, hab ich halt selber etwas experimentiert ;)

Hi everyone
I finally started with Tauriels leather corset :) Well not that far yet, but at least the pattern is done (my least favorite part)

Ich habe nun endlich mit Tauriels Lederkorsett begonnen :) naja all zu weit bin ich noch nicht gekommen, aber immerhin das Schnittmuster habe ich geschafft (das mach ich am wenigsten gerne)

And here you see both parts. There's no seam on the shoulder, or at least not yet. It depends on the amont of leather, if it's enough to cut the pieces like this. But I think it will work, or let's say I hope so ;)

Und hier sind beide Teile zusammen. Es gibt keine Naht auf der Schulter, oder zumindest noch nicht. Kommt drauf an, ob ich genug Leder habe um die Teile so zuzuschneiden. Aber ich denke das klappt, zumindest hoff ich es ;)








Next thing up, will be a pattern test. And then there's the design of the front piece... drawing the actual desing (there aren't so may good pics out there...) and then how will I transmit it to the leather...? Well, well still a lot of work to do....

Als nächstes werde ich das Schnittmuster ausprobieren. Und dann kommt natürlich auch noch das Muster auf dem Vorderteil... Das Zeichnen des Designs (es gibt nicht all zu viele gute Bilder davon...) und dann die Frage, wie krieg ich es aufs Leder.. ? Tja, tja es gibt noch ne menge zu tun...

Juhuuu mein Tauriel Wildleder Kleid ist fast feritig! :) Wie findet ihr es?

Here are two pics of the front closure. I will use another cord for the lacing though, I just had this one at hand, have to buy a more suitable one ;)

Top and skirt part are just pinned together for now, because I don't know yet, whether I will fix it permanently or just with hooks, so I'll be able to just use the top part....

Ober und Rockteil sind vorerst nur zusammengesteckt, da ich mir noch nicht sicher bin ob ich die Teile fix zusammen mache, oder nicht. Evt mache ich Haken dran, dann kann ich auch nur das Oberteil verwenden, mal sehen....
Jedenfalls, morgen werde ich mit dem Lederkorsett starten und ich freu mich schon riessig darauf :)

I was very busy working on Tauriel this weekend and now I'm almost done with the suede garb :)

Ich war sehr fleissig am Wochenende und bin nun fast fertig mit Tauriels Velourleder-Gewand :)

The first seam I did while the sleeve was still open, it's enough to have to do one seam while already closed ;)

Die erst Naht habe ich bestickt wärend der Ärmel noch offen war. Es reicht, dass ich eine Naht bei geschlossenem Ärmel machen musste ;)

And here the sleeve is completly finished and ready to get sewn to the rest of the costume
