Tauriel: fabric cutting and trim tests

Over the weekend, I had some more time for Tauriel ;)

Ich bin bereits wieder etwas weiter gekommen mit Tauriel ;)

I needed about 2.5 m fabric, it was a close call, I advice to rader by some more ;)

Ich habe ca. 2.5 m Stoff gebraucht, war eine knappe Geschichte, lieber etwas mehr kaufen ;)

At first I cut the fabric only roughly and ironed on some fleece insert. The material was a bit to thin to look like leather.

Zuerst habe ich den Stoff nur grob zugeschnitten und dann eine Klebeeinlage aufgebügelt. Das Material war mir etwas zu weich für ein Lederimitat.

Here's my test for the edging, the string is a bit to thick yet, but otherwise I like it.

Hier hab ich einen Test gemacht für die Paspelnaht, ist mir fast noch etwas zu dick, aber sonst gefällt es mir.

And another test on the trim. I know it's quite not perfect yet, but I'm no the less very happy with the outturn. It looks the way :)
By the way it's a fishnet stitch with a cord sewn in on either sides.

Und noch ein Test für die Nachtverzierungen. Es sieht noch etwas unregelmässig aus, aber ich bin echt happy mit dem Ergebniss :)
Das ist übrigens der fishnet Stich und auf beiden Seiten  habe ich etwas Garn eingenäht.

3 Versionen von Tauriels Ledergewand? / 3 versions of Tauriels leather garb?

Bevor ich auf die verschiendenen Versionen eingehen, erstmal noch der Nachtrag von gestern, mein Prototyp-Ärmel ;)

Before I talk about the diffrent versions, heres the addition to yesterdays post, my prototyp-sleev ;)

Man sieht die Naht nicht so gut auf dem Bild, aber ich bin ganz zufrieden damit. Ich werd den Ärmel noch etwas ender machen und die "normale"  untere Naht etwas nach hinten verlegen. -->siehe nächste 2 Bild

You can't see the seam very good on this picture, but I think the shape is quite nice. I will make the sleeve a bit slimer and move the "normal" seam some what to the back. -->look at the next 2 pictures

In diesen beiden Bilder sieht man, dass der Ärmel tailliert ist mit 2 verzierten Nähten.

In these two pictures you can see, the sleeve is a slim-fit with to ornated seams.

Jetzt zu den 3 Versionen:

Now on to the 3 versions:

Version 1 trägt sie beim Gespräch mit Thranduil und danach mit Kili. Die Nahtverzierungen sind recht hell und gehen bis in den Rockteil über. Sie trägt dieses Gewand leicht geöffnet (man sieht die Schnürung) mit einem braunen Obertreil darunter.

She wears Version 1 while talking to Thranduli and later to Kili. The seam ornamentation is quite bight and it even goes down the skirt part. She wears it slightly open (you can see the lacing) with a brown top underneath.

In Version 2 erscheint sie wärend der Fässer-Fahrt der Zwerge. Die verzierten Nähte sind weniger pregnant und im Rockteil nicht vorhanden. Zudem würde ich sagen, diese Version ist, im Vergleich zur 1. Version, hinten länger als vorne. Sie trägt sie zugeschnürt bis zum Kragen (evt ist diese Versionamit Haken geschlossen) und darüber ein braunes Lederkorsett.

In version 2 we see her during the dwarfs barrel-ride. The ornated seams are less highlighted and don't appear in the skirt part. Plus I would say this one is longer in the back, compared to version 1, which seems to be same lenght in front and back. She wears it laced up to the collar (could be this one closes with hooks and eyes) and over it a brown leater corsett.

Die 3. Version trägt sie beim Gespräch mit Legolas.  Das Oberteilt ist wohl das selbe wie in Version 2, aber der Rockteil scheint mir gänzlich zu fehlen, wahrscheinlich weil das Übergewand auch Rockteile hat....

Version 3 shows up whil Tauriel speaks to Legolas. The is probably exatly the same as in the second version, but it seems to me the skirt part is missing completely. I would say, it's missing because of the over garb, which has it's own skirt part....


Ich werde wohl eine Mischung aus allen 3 Versionen machen. Beim Rockteil bin ich mir allerdings gar nicht sicher, evt. mach ich eine mache ich ihn abnehmbar... mal sehen. Vielleicht warte ich auch bis zum Schluss und schau mal wie beide Gewänder übereinander aussehen.

I think I will blend the 3 versions into one. But I'm not sure what to do with the skirt part yet. Maybe I'll make it removable or I'll wait untill the end and see how the two robes look together.......we'll see.

Tauriel Prototyp

Ich habe nun das Tauriel Schnittmuster ausgetestet und bin ganz zufrieden mit dem Resultat. Natürlich gibt es noch einige Änderungen, aber das war nicht anders zu erwarten ;)

So I tested the Trauriel pattern and am quite happy with the result. Of coures I have to make some adjustments, as was to be expected ;)

Mir ist zB. der Rockteil zu weit (linke Seite), rechts habe ich diese bereits abgesteckt. Die Länge finde ich aber gut so.

For me the skirt was to far wide (left side), so I pinned some of it together (right side). I like the leght of it though.

Den Kragen habe ich die gewünschte Form gesteckt, muss aber nochmals einen Testkragen machen, bin aber zuversichtlich, dass es passt. Die Oberteil Nähte gefallen mir soweit, evt. mach ich die mittlere Bahn (grün) noch etwas schmaler.

I pinned the collar into the right shape, but I definatly have to do another testround with it. I pretty positiv about it though.
I like the look of the upper part, but maybe I will make the middel parts (green) somewhat narrower.

Auch hinten musste ich etwas von der Weite abstecken. Ich habe mir auch wieder etliche Tauriel Bilder angeschaut und da sind mir neue Sachen aufgefallen....

I had to "pin away" some of the width in the back as well. During the whole pattern test process, I looked through tonnes of Tauriel pics again an spotted some new stuff, that I didn't noticed before...

....hier sieht man, dass der "Überkragen" hinten spitz zuläuft.

Mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass es wohl 3 verschiedene Versionen gibt von dieser Tunika....
Leider kann ich jetzt nicht weiter darauf eingehen, da natürlich genau jetzt die Funktion Bilder hochladen nicht funktioniert xD Naja, gibts halt noch einen Teil 2 von diesem Post. Evt. klappts ja später noch oder dann hoffentlich morgen :)

Tauriel pattern / Schnittmuster

Jetzt ist es soweit, der Startschuss ist endlich gefallen :D
Ich hab mich an Schnittmuster von Tauriels Untertunika gewagt....

It finaly happend, I started with my Tauriel Project.
I finialy risked to start with her under tunic pattern ;D

Hier nochmals meine Skizze davon

Here's my skatch again










Zuerst habe ich mein Grundschnittmuster an meine Puppe gesteckt und die gewünschten Nähte mit einer Schnur abgestekt und dann mit einem Stift angezeichnet:

At first I pinned my basic pattern to the dressform an added the desired seam lines with a cord and then marked it with a pen:

Und so sah das dann aus auf dem Grundschnitt

Weiter gings dann mit dem eigentlichen konstruieren des Schnittmusters

Next step was the actual designing of the pattern

Vorder und Rückenteil mit Kragen. Den Kragen habe ich nur ungefähr gezeichnet, der wird sich sicher noch ändern....

Das wars vorerst mit dem Schnittmuster, gibt sicher noch die eine oder andere Änderung, aber erstmal mach ich ein Probemodell um den Schnitt auszutesten.

Green Dress finished

Long time no post..... ;)

Ja ich weiss, es ist schon sooooo lange her seit meinem letzten Post, das ist schon fast nicht mehr fassbar ;)
Es war bei mir so viel los in den vergangen Monaten, dass ich einfach nicht dazu gekommen bin, etwas zu schreiben. Das soll sich jetzt wieder ändern :)

Yeah I know, it's been to long since my last post, it's been to long ;)
There was so much going on the last months, that I just hadn't had the time to update my blog. That's about to change now ;)

Unter anderem bin ich vor kurzem umgezogen und habe nun ein neues Atelier. Ich habe jetzt viel mehr Platz und auch sonst ist es viel schöner, als mein altes Arbeitszimmer. Einfach Grossartig :D
Ich habe zwar kein Bild vom alten, dafür aber eins vom neuen Atelier.

Amongst other things that went one, I recently moved and have now a new studio. I have much more space now and I'm totaly excited about it :D I have no picture of the old room, but I can show you one of my new studio.

 Neue Kostüm-Posts folgen demnächst. Auch habe ich nun endlich mit dem geplanten Tauriel Gewand angefangen, ein Update dazu folgt also sehr bald --> nächste Woche ;)

Green Dress: next step

Ärmel und Rock sind nur angeheftet.

Sleeves and skirt are just loosley stitched to the top for now.
Soon more on this costume......









Demnächst werde ich mit einem 50er/60er Jahre Kleid beginnen. Mehr dazu in Kürze.
