I'm almost finished with the skirt part :)

 I fixed the hem with the herringbone stitch, unseen from the right side

Ich habe den Saum mit Hexenstich befestigt, so dass man den Stich auf der rechten Seit nicht sehen kann.

And that's what the skirt looks on the dress form. I still have to sew the pices together...

Und so sieht der Rock an der Schneiderpuppe aus. Jetzt muss ich noch alle Teile zusammennähen...

I hope I'll be able to finish the sleeves over the weekend and attach them to the bodice. I'm looking forward to start with the leather corset, if everything goes as planed, that could be next week.... but I want to finish this first ;)

Ich hoffe ich kriegt die Ärmel dieses Wochenende fertig und kann sie ans Oberteil nähen. Ich freu mich schon endlich mit dem Lederkorsett starten zu können, wenn alles klappt, ist es nächste... Woche soweit, aber ich will erst mal diese Teil fertig kriegen ;)

Tauriel: Collar / Kragen

So I finished the collar of my Tauriel garb. I'm quite happy with it :)

Inzwischen bin ich nun fertig geworden mit dem Kragen von meinem Tauriel Gewand. Ich bin recht zufrieden damit :)

Sewing the pices together to turn them over. There's also a tuck between the two layers, as you can see in the second pic.

At the moment I'm also very busy to finish the embroidery on the sleeves, so I can continue with those. I also started with the skirt-part and want to line the whole costume as soon as possible... well I won't get bored over the weekend ;)

Momentan bin ich fleissig daran die Ärmel fertig zu besticken, damit ich endlich an diesen weitermachen kann. Zudem habe ich mit dem Rockteil begonnen und möchte möglichst rasch das ganze Kostüm abfüttern... naja langweilig wird es mir sicher nicht übers Wochende ;)

Tauriel wig / Perücke

Yay my Tauriel wig arrived, I'm so happy with it :D

Juhuuii meine Tauriel Perücke ist da, ich bin begeistert :D

Luckily I found this doll head at my place (never really used it...) and it fits perfctly onto the stand of one of my dress forms ;) 
This will be super useful when I'll do the hairdressing.

Zum Glück hatte ich noch diesen Puppenkopf bei mir rumstehen (habe ihn nie wirklich gebraucht bis jetzt...) und er passt perfekt auf einen meiner Schneiderpuppen-Ständer ;)
Das wird sehr praktisch sein, wenn ich mich dann ans friesieren mache.

Of course I had to put it on ;) And it's so nice and long and full, I'm in love =) Sorry for the bad pic...

Natürlich musste ich sie auch gleich anprobieren ;) Und sie ist super schön und lang und voll, ich bin verbliebt =)

Next step on my wig will be the braiding and curling the lower part, looking forward to doing tha, although I have no experience in wig-hairdressing. There's always a first ;)

Der nächste Perücken-Schritt wird dann das Zopfflechten sein und den unteren Teil werde ich noch Locken. Ich freue mich auf diese Arbeit, auch wenn ich keine Erfahrung mit Perücken-frisieren habe. Es gibt immer ein erstes Mal ;)

Sorry there's no update about the costume today, but I will post some news about it on Thursday :)

Tauriel: sewing top part together / Oberteil zusammennähen

Although I'm not yet finished with the embroidery on the sleeves, I had to take a break, as my neck began to ach xP

So instead I sewed the pieces of the top part together.

Ich bin zwar noch nicht fertig mit dem besticken der Ärmel, aber ich musste mal ne Pause machen. Mein Nacken ist schon total verspannt xP

Also habe ich stattdessen alle Teile vom Oberteil zusammengenäht.

Auf diesen Bilder ist nun auch der "äussere" Kragen (ich weiss nicht wie ich den nennen soll..) dran und eine weitere Biese zwischen den Teilen. Der effective Kragen fehlt noch

My next steps will be, cutting the skirt part and the lining, figuring out the final form of the collar, of course finishing the sleev-embroidery and then putting everyting together :) 

Yes there's still some work to do, before I can move on to the leather corset... ;)

Meine nächsten Schritte sind: Rockteile und Futterstoff zuschneiden, die finale Form des Kragens bestimmen, natürlich die Bestickung an den Ärmeln fertig machen und dann alles zusammennähen :)

Ja es gibt noch einiges zu tun, bevor ich dann mit dem Lederkorsett starten kann... ;)

Just yesterday I recived a note, that my reddish-brow Tauriel wig is ready to pic up from my local post office and I'm so exited about it. I will be able to pick it uf on friday, I can't wait :D

What ar you looking forward to see/learn about on this costume?

Gestern habe ich eine Nachricht erhalten, dass meine rot-braune Tauriel Perücke abholbereit ist auf der Poststelle, ich bin schon richtig aufgeregt. Ich werde es am Freitag abholen können, kann es kaum abwarten :D

Auf was freut ihr euch am meisten, bzw auf was seid ihr am gespanntesten an diesem Kostüm?

Tauriel: fishnet stitch trimming / Fischnetz-Stich Verzierung

So this weekend, I spend about 10! hours working on the trim and I'm not done yet, only halfway through ;P
But it's nice work to do and I'm not in a hurry, so I don't mind.

Hallo zusammen :) 
Dieses Wochenende habe ich ca. 10! Stunden mit Sticken verbracht und ich bin bei weitem noch nicht fertig, grade mal in der Hälfte ;P
Aber es ist zum glück eine tolle Arbeit und ich bin nicht in Eile, von dem her machts mir nichts aus.


Has anyone used that fishnet stitch before? Well I haven't untill now, but I like it a lot and will probably use it again soon :D 
Here's my step by step:

Hat jemand von euch schon mal diesen Fischernetz-Stich verwendet? (bin mir nicht sicher ob der zu Deutsch überhaut so heisst...) Also bei mir war's jetzt das erste mal und ich muss sagen, dieser Stich gefällt mir sehr gut! Ich werde ihn wahrscheinlich in Zukunft öfters brauchen :D
Hier meine Schritt für Schritt Anleitung:

This is the first step. I used wool yarn and normal thread (polyester)

Auf diesem Bild sieht man Schritt Nr. 1. Ich habe Wollgarn und normalen Polyesterfaden verwendet.







Steps 2-4 are all the same, the just show the progress of the 3 rows I did. I advise to use a long enough thread for one row at the time. The net that starts to form shoud be loosely and only attached at beginning and ending of a row.

Schritte 2-4 sind alle die gleichen, sie zeichen den Fortschritt der drei Reihen die dich gestickt habe. Ich empfehle einen langen Faden zu verwenden um eine ganze Reihe sticken zu können. Das Netz sollte lose sein und nur am Anfang und Ende befestigt werden.

 

Final step is attaching the net on another wool yarn and your finished. I love the way it turned out. It's exactly how I wanned it to look like :)

Der letzte Schritt ist das Befestigen des Netzes, wieder mit eingenähtem Wollgarn. Ich bin total zufrieden mit dem Resultat, es sieht genau so aus, wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe :)

Tauriel: how to sew in tucks / Biesen einnähen

Yesterday I sewed in the tucks on Tauriels garb. Here's my short how to on it:

Gestern habe ich die Biesen in Tauriels Gewand eingenäht. Hier ein kurze Anleitung:

What you need is bias strips (in this case I used lining fabric) and a cord in the desired size (it's can also be just a normal cord)

Was man dazu bracht, sind Schrägsteifen (hier habe ich Futterstoff verwendet) und eine Kordel/Schnur in der gewünschten dicke (es muss nicht eine vorgefertigte Biese sein, normale Kordel tuts auch)

Then sew the cord in to the bias strip

Dann die Kordel in den Schrägstreifen einnähen

I prefer to take two steps for the sewing in, because it tends to slide. So at first at I fix it to one side....

Ich bevorzuge das Einnähen in 2 Schritten zu machen, da die Biesen sonst oft verrutschen. Also nähe ich sie erst an einem Teil fest.....

...and then put the two pieces together. And tada, your finished ;)

...und nähe danach die beiden Stücke zusammen. Et voila, fertig ist die Biesennaht ;)






At the moment I'm quite busy with the trim embroidery of the other seams, that will take a while... but the good thing is, you can do it while watchen a movie or so ;D
Hopefully I can show you some results next week.

Aber das gute daran ist, man kann nebenbei einen Film oder so schauen ;D

Tauriel: fabric cutting and trim tests

Over the weekend, I had some more time for Tauriel ;)

Ich bin bereits wieder etwas weiter gekommen mit Tauriel ;)

I needed about 2.5 m fabric, it was a close call, I advice to rader by some more ;)

Ich habe ca. 2.5 m Stoff gebraucht, war eine knappe Geschichte, lieber etwas mehr kaufen ;)

At first I cut the fabric only roughly and ironed on some fleece insert. The material was a bit to thin to look like leather.

Zuerst habe ich den Stoff nur grob zugeschnitten und dann eine Klebeeinlage aufgebügelt. Das Material war mir etwas zu weich für ein Lederimitat.

Here's my test for the edging, the string is a bit to thick yet, but otherwise I like it.

Hier hab ich einen Test gemacht für die Paspelnaht, ist mir fast noch etwas zu dick, aber sonst gefällt es mir.

And another test on the trim. I know it's quite not perfect yet, but I'm no the less very happy with the outturn. It looks the way :)
By the way it's a fishnet stitch with a cord sewn in on either sides.

Und noch ein Test für die Nachtverzierungen. Es sieht noch etwas unregelmässig aus, aber ich bin echt happy mit dem Ergebniss :)
Das ist übrigens der fishnet Stich und auf beiden Seiten  habe ich etwas Garn eingenäht.
